How to convert DVD movie and video to iPod on Mac

As we know, iPod only support H.264, MPEG-4 in .mp4, .mov, .m4v formats, and MP3, protected AAC, AAC, Audible, Apple lossless in .aac, .mp3, .m4a files. That's to say, you need to convert your DVD movies and video to the format supported by iPod. This guide will work for all serise of iPod including iPod Touch, iPod Classic, iPod Nano, iPod Video and iPod Shuffle:

Part1. How to rip protected DVD movie to iPod on Mac OS X?

Step1. Add DVD Movie. Click the Load DVD button, browse your computer, find the DVD folder of the movie you want to add from your hard disc or DVD-ROM, open your DVD folder, select the VIDEO_TS folder and click OK.

Or, click the Load IFO button, browse your computer, find the DVD folder of the movie you want to add from your hard disc or DVD-ROM, open your DVD folder, open the VIDEO_TS folder, select all the IFO files and click OK.

Step 2: Output Settings. At the bottom of the main window, you can name the output file for the current title/chapter, and select a subtitle to put on your movie, select an audio track. Then finish all the settings including selecting an output format, clicking the Settings button to set the video and audio encoding settings, choose if to merge the selected titles or chapters into one file, and set an output directory to save the output files.

Step 3: Start Conversion. After setting the output settings, you can just click the Convert button to start converting your Movie. You can choose to shut down your computer or open the output folder after conversion so you don't have to sit before your computer waiting for the conversion to finish.

Step 4: Put your movies on your iPod or iPhone
1). Open iTunes and click "File" to add your converted videos to iTunes library.
2). plug in your iPod to computer, then iTunes will detect your iPod as a device.
3). Select your iPod device on the left panel of iTunes, click 'Movies' tab, check the videos you want to sync and click 'Apply', done.

Part2. How to convert video and put video to iPod on Mac

Step 1. Add Video files. Click the 'Add Files' button to add video or audio files such as flv, avi etc. to the program by automatically selecting an appropriate encoder for the video files you want to convert to the program. Part3. How to edit video for iPod on Mac OS X (Optinonal)

1. Trim video files
Click the Trim button to open the Trim window and trim the current video file by dragging the Start Time slider to set the start point, and drag the End Time slider to set the finish point. The final length can be found at 'Trimmed Length'. Click OK when you finish the trimming.

2. Crop Movie Video
If you want to remove the black edges or just convert part of the video area from your video file, you can click the Crop button and specify an area either by dragging the frame around the video or setting the crop values: Top, Button, Left and Right by directly entering the crop values.

You can also select an output aspect ratio and the available options are: Keep Original, full screen, 16:9 and 4:3. You can preview the video in the select aspect ratio on the main interface and during the conversion process.

3. Video Effect
Click the Effect button and drag each effect adjustment slider to set the video brightness, contrast, saturation and audio volume. You can also choose to flip the video and apply a special video effect to your video file by selecting a special effect from the Effect drop-down list: Gray, Emboss, Old Film and Negative. The video effect can be previewed in the right pane. You can also set the audio volume here by dragging the Volume slider.
